Vite-Tri Shoe

Research

The research process was two pronged, first, various triathletes were asked about their existing experience with tri-shoes, and second, observation of how an athlete interacts with the shoe.

Observation

For the purpose of observation, I contacted Saurabh Bhasin, a tri-athlete who has finished several Iron Man competitions. He gave a lot of feedback and answered various questions through the whole process.

Concept Development

After finalizing on a concept, material specifications were ironed out. 

To make Vite as performance enhanced as possible some of the key considerations were: light weight, low flex, high ventilation and ease of wearing them.

The finer details regarding the dimensions of the shoe were figured out. Dimensions made to fit women's size 6. 

 
 
 

CAD Development: Solidworks

The shoe was recreated in Solidworks with the aim of using the file for 3D printing it.

Build Process

The prototype was 3D printed from the CAD file created on Solidworks.

Colourways

The shoe can be produced in a variety of colourways but for the purpose of the project, it is mainly created in primary colours.

Branding and Packaging

The branding is a combination of sharp edges with smooth curves to create contrast. 

The packaging is black as it constrats well with the brand identity of Vite.
